I am excited to announce that Michelle Azure will be the new assistant principal of our school. 

I am pleased to tell you that Wilbur Winkelman has been named the new principal of Sonnesyn Elementary School.

Robbinsdale Area Schools Nutrition Services is hitting the road and serving free lunches Monday through Friday, June 13 through Aug.12, 2022  at area parks this summer to anyone 18 and under. View the schedule and menus on our district website.

We are excited to bring back the 5th Grade Farewell this year. This is a special program held on the last day of school (June 8th) to honor our 5th graders.  We could use help after school on Tuesday, June 7th to set up the gym for the event, and during the afternoon of Wednesday, June 8th to help with the reception and clean-up.  It would be great to have the help of Pre-K - 4th Grade parents/guardians at the event on June 8, so that 5th Grade families can simply come and enjoy the event with their students.  Please check out the volunteer needs and sign up if you are able to help out the PTSO and allow families to enjoy the event.

Literacy Night

Come to Sonnesyn on May 19th @ 6:00-7:30 for a fun night of games, fun, and learning.

Come and learn different reading games and activities, grab some free books and snacks, and hang out with your friends and teachers at this year’s Sonnesyn Literacy Night!

Parents will explore the school with their kids and everyone will get a chance to have fun and share their love of books.

The Sonnesyn PTSO helps out the school in many different ways. We are requesting your input to better tailor our work towards parents, teachers, and student needs. Fill out the survey today!

We take many factors into consideration as we determine classroom assignments each year. Family input is a part of this process. Please take a few moments to provide us with information you feel will be helpful as we determine class placement for the 22-23 school year by completing this form. Students in Grades 3-5 will take the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments starting April 12th. The schedule is below:

PTSO Info & Election Meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 12th.  Come learn more about the PTSO and how you can be involved.  We will be electing 2022-2023 PTSO Board Members at the meeting.  Any Sonnesyn parent or guardian is welcome to put their name in to be voted on at the meeting.  We also are looking for chairpeople interested in planning next year's events and fundraisers.  Please see this flyer for more information.  Feel free to send any questions you have about any of the roles or if you are interested in taking one of the roles on for next school year to sonnesynptso@gmail.com.
