Centering the student experience

This week, the Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030 process turned its focus squarely on the student experience, with powerful conversations across schools and within the Vision 2030 Team.

📍 Vision 2030 Team Meeting – March 25 at Armstrong High School

Team members heard directly from students and explored topics including:

• Academic experience
• Safety and security
• Belonging and well-being
• Student voice in shaping their learning environments

Superintendent Dr. Teri Staloch reflected on the meeting: "Hearing directly from our students reminds us why we do this work. Their perspectives are essential to creating a school system that is safe, welcoming, and built for their success."

📍 Staff Engagement Meetings:

📍 Student Engagement:

✔ March 28 – Plymouth Middle School student meetings

Each of these conversations adds more depth to our shared understanding of what a successful, sustainable, and equitable future looks like for Rdale.

Looking ahead

📅 Spring Break is next week — no engagement events are scheduled. The Vision 2030 process will resume the following week as we continue our journey toward transformation.

Two distinct but interconnected efforts

Just as a reminder, Rdale is working on two critical efforts that, while separate, must align for long-term success:

🔹 Budget deficit and stabilization: The district must cut $21 million for the 2025-26 school year to restore financial stability.
🔹 Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030: A long-term planning initiative to create a strong, sustainable, and competitive future for our district.

Dr. Staloch reiterated this alignment at this week’s Vision Team meeting: "The work of Reimagine Rdale isn’t happening in isolation—it must guide and inform how we move forward as a district, including the tough financial decisions we face."
